Our fine tuned process has proven successful time and time again, creating beautiful spaces and happy clients.

1. Design

Every home is unique, so every project starts with a custom design that takes your needs into consideration. We work closely with local architects and structural engineers to provide the highest level of design for our clients.

2. Plan

Our in-house team of project and design managers make sure every piece is in place before breaking ground. This ensures a smooth construction phase that respects your home and your time.

3. Build

Every phase of construction on your home is managed by a dedicated project manager. You are kept in the loop at every stage through our construction app or by simply picking up the phone and talking directly to your PM.

James River Construction was founded by Ken Felts, who grew up learning how to build and fix things alongside his dad. From an early age he understood the value of building – whether it was building relationships, homes, a reputation or positive culture. An educational and professional background in counseling provided him with a unique approach when he started JRC in 1995.

He knew that listening to clients and respecting their ideas and thoughts was first and foremost for a successful outcome. While Ken still loves to build things, he spends his time now thinking about how he can improve the construction industry one project at a time, while providing a workplace where individuals can thrive, grow and build a better future.
