A once-dark basement is reimagined into a fashionably cozy retreat
This transformation boasts a sleek wet bar for hosting, a dedicated gym for fitness enthusiasts, and a refreshed laundry zone that combines practicality with style.
The project involved extensive demolition, including the removal of old HVAC ductwork, and cleaning up the ceiling’s wiring and plumbing. New ductwork was installed to improve air circulation, while framing was added to create more defined zones.
Electrical work included roughing in new outlets, switches, and lighting, while plumbing was set up for two sinks to support the wet bar and laundry.
One of the key challenges was the basement’s low ceiling height, compounded by low-hanging exposed ductwork and uneven concrete floors. Properly installing finish materials like drywall and trim onto brick and concrete required careful planning and precision.
